Jared of Nazareth

This is our good friend Jared. We got to know him at L'Abri this past fall. I was able to see him while on a business trip in Houston, Texas. It might interest you to know that Jared plays Jesus in an Easter musical extravaganza every year - thus his Jesus-like look and the nickname we all called him at L'Abri (referring to this blog's title).

Anyway, Jared told us that one of his life-long goals (since meeting us) was to get on our blog. Well, Jared, this goal has now been met twice! (See archived post of November 27, 2006)

It might also interest our L'Abri friends that Jared spent a brief stint as a male model. How come that info never leaked in Bellevue, Jared?!

A Regret

I was taking in some recycling yesterday. While waiting in line, I met a guy named John who was also there to take in recycling. John was homeless, dirty, and a bit socially awkward. Recycling appeared to be his livelihood. And no one else there would talk to him.

We struck up a conversation in line and I helped him out a bit. Afterward, he invited me to sit down and have a beer with him.

The man invited me to have a beer with him! What an opportunity. And what did I say. I'm sure you can guess.

But what was I doing yesterday? Hmm... I went to the store, I cleaned our apartment, I watched a movie, I snacked a little, I took in some recycling... yep, that's about it.

So, I politely declined his offer. He thanked me for my help and I went on my way.

John, please forgive me. I blew a blatant opportunity to show you love... and now it really bothers me!

Sorry for the Hiatus

Sorry it's been so long since we've posted. We've almost completed our move back to SoCal but it's taken some time to get up and running. We had some hang ups the first week which slowed us down getting unpacked. However, we're pretty much there. Kay is back to work at Reasons, and Pierre is still working each day to take care of details: unpacking, address changes, renters insurance, new transportation... hopefully we'll have some fun pictures to post in regards to that last one real soon.

Anyway, we've also had a break from the reading and thinking... but the intent is to pick up some new books now. We've got a fantastic used theology bookstore two blocks from our house. Umm... we might be there a lot.

And to celebrate our move and our forward step into this next phase in our lives we've upgraded the blog design. We hope you like it.

Here's us moving our crap out of it's place of residence for 7 months - a storage unit.
