"Barak"
People do realize that the name "Barak" is a Bible name, right?
It's ancient Hebrew.
(And yes, that is very random... but was on my mind.)
May our eyes be opened to truth. May we see the needs of our world. May we be inspired to vision and to action.

Yes, but it is not the same name as the guy running for President. Barack Hussein Obama's name has an Arabic origin.
Sarah,
For the most part, I'd agree with you. However, Hebrew and Aramaic significantly predate Arabic. And, a name which is clearly of one origin can actually contain roots far deeper.
My name is Pierre. Which is clearly French. And we could stop there. But really, that name could be traced back to Aramaic also... Pierre = Peter (Greek) = Stone = Cephas (Aramaic)
So, my post is merely suggesting that within the name "Barack" (which can also be spelled Barak in Arabic) is the potential for deeper origins.
But I'm not studied in etymology, so I'm not claiming any expertise or certainty on the matter. Just a thought.
